Please note that there is no running water at Kibo Hut. The remainder of the day is designated for relaxation in preparation for the final ascent, leading to an early night’s rest. We’ll take a brief respite here, basking in the sunrise over Mawenzi. For those still feeling energized, a three-hour round trip along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m, the highest point in Africa, is an option. After a moment to appreciate this incredible achievement, we begin our descent, which is remarkably swift. We pause at Kibo Hut for refreshments and continue the descent, arriving at Horombo Hut.
