Day 1: Arriving Nairobi
Arrive at Nairobi airport, where you’ll be met with a private car and transferred to your hotel. Take this opportunity to relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for your exciting Tanzania and Kenya Safari adventure. You’ll also have a short safari briefing with your driver-guide. (BB – Bed and Breakfast)
Day 2: Safari to Masai Mara
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive to Maasai Mara Game Reserve with a short stop at the Viewpoint for stunning views of the Rift Valley below and the distant volcanoes of Suswa and Longonot. You’ll then drive down with a quick stop at Mai Mahiu (hot water springs) before proceeding to the most celebrated Game Reserve in Africa, Maasai Mara. On your way to your lodge, keep an eye out for birds, herds of antelopes, giraffes, zebras, gazelles, and elephants. After lunch at the lodge, relax before embarking on a sunset game drive on the plains. Spend the night at a Maasai Mara camp/lodge.
Day 3: Masai Mara
Enjoy a full day in Maasai Mara, renowned for its captivating wildlife. You’ll also have the opportunity to experience a cultural visit to a Maasai boma (village) and gain insight into the unique way of life of these famous nomads. Maasai Mara is well-known for the “Big Cats,” just as featured in the BBC’s Big Cat Diary. Witness the awe-inspiring Great Wildebeests Migration, with over a million and a half herds migrating from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania in search of greener pastures and water. You’ll spend the night at a Maasai Mara camp/lodge.
Day 4: Masai Mara to – Serengeti
After an early morning breakfast, begin the long drive to Serengeti National Park via the Isebania Border. During the journey, you’ll make a stop at Musoma town, situated along the largest freshwater lake in Africa. As you enter Serengeti, the enchanting wildlife encounters will commence, including herds of elephants, zebras, and other animals. Unwind at your lodge or tented camp after dinner. (FB – Full Board)
Day 5: Serengeti Game Drive full day
Start your day with an optional morning game drive and explore the boundless plains of Serengeti, aptly named “Siringet” in the Masai language for endless plains. The park is renowned for its diverse bird and animal species, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, and more. Spend the night at a Serengeti safari lodge or Katikati tented camp. (FB)
Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive
Begin your day with an early breakfast as you descend into the extraordinary Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the “Eden of Africa” and the “eighth wonder of the world.” Encounter a remarkable concentration of wildlife, including the Big 5, such as lions, elephants, buffalos, and black rhinos. In the afternoon, you’ll drive to Bougainvillea Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. (FB)
Day 7: Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park
Today, drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a half-day of game drives. These parks may be smaller in size but offer a rewarding and diverse safari experience. Lake Manyara is known for its abundant birdlife, and you might even spot the elusive tree-climbing lions. Other large mammals and dramatic Rift escarpment cliffs form a striking backdrop. Later, return to Arusha or Moshi for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel or transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for your flight.
Day 8: Departure day
Bid farewell to the team and enjoy a private departure transfer from Moshi to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight.
