DAY 1: STONE TOWN TOUR

Your program starts with a morning visit by the walk on our Historical Stone Town Tour. This tour takes you through fabled Stone Town, where history appears to stand still. With visits to the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People’s Palace), and the Arab Fort, amongst others, it is a fascinating look at the essence of Zanzibar. You will see Zanzibar’s bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals, and countless mosques!

Dinner and overnight stay at Fumba safari blue: Half board.

DAY 2: SNORKELING IN ZANZIBAR

Snorkeling in Zanzibar is an experience of a lifetime. Unlike many other popular snorkeling destinations worldwide, it is still possible to find places that have never been explored along the coast. Many coral varieties provide a home to thousands of colorful and exotic creatures, including blue ribbon tail rays, firefish, and for the “Finding Nemo” fans, clownfish.

DAY 3: ZANZIBAR TO THE AIRPORT

Depending on your flight schedule and departure point, you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport to take a flight back home. If you are flying out of Dar es Salaam or Nairobi, we will arrange a connection flight to catch your flight back home.

Day 1: Stone Town

On arrival at the Airport or Harbour, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Stone Town. Overnight stay at the hotel on Bed & Breakfast basis.

Day 2: Historical Site

After breakfast, depart for a guided tour of Stone Town covering the Kelele Square, Tip Tip House, Former Slave Market site, Livingstone House, the Old dhow Harbor, and the Old Arab Fort. Lunch at a local restaurant. At 1500hrs, a boat trip to Prison Island, the former prison for slaves and quarantine stations for Zanzibar. It is a worthwhile experience. Here you will also experience giant tortoises in the wild. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Mangapwani Village

After breakfast:

Transfer to Mangapwani village via Maruhubi palace ruins.

Visit the slave caves and chambers.

Lunch at Mangapwani Serena Restaurant.

The restaurant is located on the outskirts of Zanzibar Stone Town. The Serena Mangapwani Restaurant and Waterspout Centre is an excellent destination for those looking for somewhere special. Visitors to Mangapwani are offered a fresh seafood barbeque cooked to perfection by a serene expert team of chefs. The atmosphere is informal and friendly, and the restaurant comprises a series of traditional makuti bandas, all set into a lush hillside overlooking an idyllic beach. Guests can also enjoy fishing, snorkelling, kayaking, catamaran rides and other pleasant distractions at the sound–equipped water sports centre. Late in the afternoon, drive back to stone town. Overnight stay at the hotel in stone town.

Day 4: Transfer to the Airport

After breakfast transfer to the Airport for your flight back home. End of our services.

Day 1: Arrive in Zanzibar

Arrive at Zanzibar Airport anytime; you will meet us at the airport and pick us up with a private transfer to Stone Town. Dinner and overnight stay at Swahili House in Stone town.

Day 2: Spice farm and Jozani Forest trip

Today you go on an excursion to the spice and fruit plantations close to Stone town for the famous Spice Tour. We have developed a special Spice Tour with in-depth information about spices and organically grown herbs and a detailed description of their traditional uses in medicine cosmetics and cooking. After the tour, we invite you for an opulent lunch at our guides’ home, where you can taste the spices and fruits. After lunch, we take you to your beach resort. On the way, you pass Jozani Forest, the last habitat of the rare endemic Red Colobus Monkey. With a local guide, you stroll through Jozani Chwaka National Park and look at the rare monkeys. If you wish, you can even wander down the boardwalk to the fascinating Mangrove Ecosystem. Dinner and overnight stay at the Tembo Hotel: Half board.

Day 3: Leisure day at the beach

Relax and unwind and enjoy the beaches of Zanzibar. Dinner and overnight stay at Amani Bungalow: Half board.

Day 4: Jambiani Village trip

In the morning, you drive along the coast. Passing the fishing villages of Bwejuu and Paje, you reach Jambiani, a fishermen village on the East coast of Zanzibar. Our guide tells about the history of the village, you will visit a traditional herbalist, who will show you the local medicines, herbs, and their uses, a visit to a local organically plantation on coral stone, where farmers cultivate under difficult circumstances, and seaweed farms run by a woman.

Day 5: Dolphin trip

One day you go on an excursion to Kizimkazi.

Kizimkazi is situated on the southern point of the island. Kizimkazi fishing village is home to several schools of bottle-nosed dolphins and Humpback dolphins, which can often be sighted following a short boat trip from the village. If you are lucky, you may be able to swim quite close to the dolphins, which can be an enriching experience. We are making this trip in the afternoon to avoid the crowds of tourists in the morning, which in big numbers disturbing the dolphins. Dinner and overnight stay at the Tembo Hotel: Half board.

Day 6: Departure day

Depending on your flight schedule and departure point, you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport to take a flight back home. If you are flying out of Dar es Salaam or Nairobi, we will arrange a connection flight to catch your flight back home.

An excellent chance to learn about the unique culture and the diverse environment of Zanzibar’s villages and meet the friendly Waswahili people. We will show you real life, not images designed for tourists.
